PNW Treasure Hunt - Fun-Family-Friendly Strolls & Hikes

Treasure Hunt: Lime Kiln

This hike is a real treasure and has some serious history. With bright moss-covered trees, rocks, and ground cover. It’s a lovely, forested walk alongside a river. Lime Kiln was constructed in 1890 out of large granite boulders stacked 20 feet tall. Nice lunch spot by the river at the end of the hike. Some muddy trail with slippery log “bridges” hiking sticks are helpful this time of the year. Currently you will want waterproof shoes and pants.  Super fun treasure to discover with family or friends.

Length 6.5 Miles (round trip)

Elevation Gain: 931Ft (family friendly)

Location: Robe Canyon Historic Trail Park.

Treasure Hunt: Trolls

These strolls are kid friendly, fun pic’s for all.

Jakob Two Trees is the first troll to have a ponytail, with a band made by the Snoqualmie Tribe holding his hair in place. He wears a necklace of birdhouses over his fur, inviting forest creatures to come spend an afternoon with him.

Jakob stands around 14-ft. tall. He is one of six in the region, located in Issaquah. The other trolls are on Bainbridge Island; Ballard, Seattle; Portland, Vashon Island and West Seattle. Can you find them?! I provided a link below to help you.

Location:

Jakob Two Trees hangs out approximately a quarter mile from the Issaquah Community Center, down the Rainier Trail.

If you start at the Issaquah Community Center (301 Rainier Blvd S, Issaquah, WA 98027) and walk south on the paved Rainier Trail past the Dog Park, you will find Jakob several minutes down the trail.

Treasure Hunt: Different Art Structure's

This place is one of a kind! Beautiful art throughout this family friendly walk-in-the-park and not on any list to visit. I lived on Whidbey Island for several years and became quite familiar with its treasures; it’s also somewhat new. If you’re in it for the creative pic, have a family or just want to check out something different, it’s an easy outdoor stroll.

Have you been? If not, check it out.

Location: Price Structure Park, Coupeville (Whidbey Island).

Treasure Hunt: Abandoned Cars and Beautiful Waterfall.

Hike Name: Cherry Creek Falls

Length: 4.8 miles, round trip.

Elevation gain: 646 (kid friendly)

Location: Just outside of Duvall
